I have done that by contrasting the way Network Marketing organizations have been built in the past (friends and family, meetings, buying leads and cold calling), and the way it should be built now (using the internet, direct response advertising, and a duplicatable marketing system).

Now that I have laid the groundwork, the foundation if you will, now it is time to get into another important aspect of building your MLM the new way.  And that is generating targeted MLM leads.

I specify targeted because, one of the reasons I have advocated the new way vs. the old way, is because the old way wasted a lot of time on non-targeted leads.

We have been taught in MLM Network Marketing that everybody is a prospect.  But I am sure from your experience, most of the people you talked to weren’t interested.  You wasted time showing the plan, driving to a meeting, or sitting on the phone calling leads.  I am not for wasting time.

Sure everybody wants more money, more time, or more freedom, but most don’t want to do it via MLM.

Well the new way focuses on knowing who our target market is and delivering a well written sales ad that speaks to that market’s desires and problems and offers a solution.

If we do that, we end up with a targeted lead.  And dealing with a targeted lead, as you will soon discover, is much more efficient and definitely much more effective.

There are millions of people who are our target market.  People who are interested in MLM maybe because they have been involved in it in the past and are looking for a way to make it work now, or people who know of the industry, but may not want to build it the old style ways.

So the focus of this series of articles will be to show you how I generate an endless supply of targeted leads for my MLM and how you can too.

It is not that hard, you just have to put into action what I show you.

Now I am going to focus on the 3 main ways I have used to generate targeted traffic.  Nice part about it, 2 are free, and the 3rd is relatively inexpensive compared to the types of returns you can get.

The 3 are Article Marketing, Ezine Advertising, and finally Web 2.0.

I am sure you see a glaring ommission and that is Google PPC.  If you don’t know what PPC or pay per click is, it is when you pay a search engine, such as Google an “x” amount for every click they get for you.

They are the ads that appear on the right hand side of Google whenever you do a search on their search engine.  Everytime you click on one of those ads, Google charges whoever paid for that ad a certain price for that click.

Depending on how much you are willing to pay, will determine how high Google will place you on their search results pages.  And obviously the higher you are willing to pay and the higher you appear on their page, will get you more clicks and more exposure to whatever it is you are advertising.

Well, I have left it out mainly because unless you are already a very good marketer, know how to write good ads, etc. it is a very expensive way to test whatever it is you are selling.

You can spend a lot of money fast and not get anything in return if you don’t know what you are doing.

And since you may be new to marketing or new to building your Network Marketing company in this new way, I am assuming you may not be an experienced marketer.

Once you do start making money and are more experienced as a marketer, using PPC/pay per click, is definitely a tool you want to use in your arsenal, because if done right, you can definitely produce a very highly targeted and qualified lead.

So ready to begin?  The first part will be one of my favorites because it is easy, it is free, and produces laser targeted leads looking to join you.  It is article marketing.

Generating Targeted MLM Traffic Part 2

What I wanted to do here is basically summarize the key points of my training site by sharing with you the exact steps you need to make it all come together.

In order to create and generate a recruiting cash machine that not only makes money for yourself, but also for the team you are going to be putting together in your organization, you need to start with the end in mind.

What is the end?  We want to create a duplicatable system that accomplishes the goal of getting people to join you in your MLM Network Marketing business.

I call it duplicatable because to generate the huge incomes and huge downlines that we all desire in network marketing, we are going to need people who we bring into our business who can do what we do.  In other words, we need to have a system that a person who  is not a super salesman, nor wants to be, could be as much of a success as you.

Remember my story of how I enjoyed extreme success in my first MLM by using the methods of cold calling, but everybody I brought in, no matter how hard I tried to teach them, could not do what I was doing.  All the money was being made by my efforts and unfortunately off of the backs of people who were failing in my business.  I did not want to earn money that way.  Hence, the need to create something easily followed and duplicated by your future team members.

So, back to the end in mind, our duplicatable system that gets people to join our business, what do we need to do?  What do we need to put this all together?

Well first off, we need to know what this system is going to be based off of.  As I hopefully have laid out to you in my lessons, our system needs to not be based off of our products or opportunity.  In this industry, we have what is called market saturation.  Everybody competing with everybody trying to say my product is better, my opportunity is better, my comp plan is better, my whatever is better.

If we are not to get drowned in this sea of “me” too products and opportunities and actually produce leads, recruits, and money we need to base our system off of what I already explained is called the funded proposal system.  But not just any funded proposal system, but a funded proposal system using the powerful advertising medium called Direct Response Marketing.

So since it is based off of direct response marketing, our funded proposal system is going to identify our target market, understand their needs and problems, tailor a sales message that speaks to that problem, and offers a solution in the form of an information product which we sell to them and make money in the process.

So rather than approach our prospect with a “me” too product or opportunity, something they don’t want, no, we approach them with a solution to a problem, something they do want.  We generate a highly qualified lead and make money in the process, a funded proposal.

This funded proposal via an information product, makes us money, thereby paying for our advertising and prospecting, and if done correctly, will actually be a source of profit.

Now that we have established a relationship and trust of our prospect, we can now recruit them about our business opportunity because they are now more willing to hear what we have to say.

Secondly, now that we know what our system will look like and what it will do and accomplish, we need to put it together.

We could do that one of two ways.  First we could create the information product ourselves and sell it as our funded proposal.  Or we could sell an information product that was created by somebody else and get paid on the sales of that product.

Well, if our end goal in mind is to have a system that gets people to join and also allows that person who joins to become successful as well; when we are first getting started, the second option is the best.  Because most people will not be able to create an information product themselves when they are starting.

The benefits of using somebody else’s funded proposal system are numerous.  Here are some:

• You don’t have to create the product yourself, which is not duplicatable in the beginning.
• By using somebody else’s system, you don’t have to create the killer sales page that is needed to make the sales, already done for you.
• You don’t have to worry about setting up your own merchant account to accept sales.  It is part of the system.
• You will have a ready made system that you can plug your new team members into.
• Piggyback off of the success of others, especially when you are just getting started, because you need some credibility whether it is yours or somebody else’s, you need it.
• and many more…

Final step, now that we have a website and funded proposal system in place, we need to do the all important thing of getting traffic to our sites.  A great website that can sell ice to an eskimo is worthless if nobody sees it.  With the millions of websites on the internet, just because you put up your website, doesn’t guarantee that people will see it.  You need to know how to get traffic to that site.  And as in anything, the larger the number of people you can get to see it, the greater the results.

So how do you generate traffic?  Many ways.  Some free ways are article writing, posting in forums, commenting on other people’s blogs, social sites like Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, and Squidoo.  Not to mention you also could set up free blogs on Wordpress or Blogger.com.

Some paid ways are Google Pay Per Click, PPC Advertising, eZine advertising, banner ads, email marketing.

So in summary, here are the steps to making money online with your MLM:

1. Create a funded proposal system that can be used by you and your downline.  By doing this you will create duplication because people need a system when they get started.  People fail, systems work.
2. If you can’t or don’t want to create a funded proposal system, you can piggyback off of the success of others and use one already currently in place.
3. Generate Traffic.  Without traffic, nothing gets sold.
4. Now that you have traffic, you will start to make leads and make sales.  You will now have prospects calling you wanting to join you in whatever you are doing.

Do these steps for your MLM Home Based Business and you will create a recruiting machine making you hand over fist.

Before I begin, I need to define terms.  When I refer to Old School MLM I am referring to the tried and true method of home meetings, hotel meetings, making a list of 100 friends and family, conversating with strangers to pitch your MLM, buying leads and cold calling.

When I refer to New School MLM I am referring to using marketing, direct response marketing to build your downline.  Using methods such as the internet and its vast resources and millions of people on it, getting those people to our websites and sales copy to attract prospects.

Now that I have defined these terms, you will obviously know after you learn from this website, that I am a fierce advocate of New School MLM methods.

But by being a fierce advocate of these New School methods, I am going to come across at times as being against Old School.

Let me make it clear, I am not.  If I had a downline member who was a master at prospecting friends and family, or people within 3 feet, or a master of cold calling bought leads, I would be singing his praises.

I am just a fierce advocate of the New School MLM because I have tried and failed at the old school methods.

I have tried the friends and family.  I have never felt so uncomfortable or my conversations felt so contrived then when I did that.

Or the 3 feet rule.  You don’t know how many times I tried to muster up the courage to pitch someone I didn’t know about my opportunity and felt like a complete idiot.

Or buying leads.  I have spent thousands on leads, because I must confess, I did find moderate success doing that.  But in time, my ROI, return on investment, slowly dwindled down as the quality of the leads dropped since those leads were sold over and over and I was the 10 millionth caller to that lead.

There is nothing more energy draining and unmotivating as sitting on a phone dialing for 3 hours straight, only to talk to 2 or 3 people.  And of those 3 people, they were all either broke or disinterested.

So that left me with needing to find a new way to build my organization.

And what I found is what I call the New School MLM methods.  It consists of the using the powerful advertising medium called Direct Response Advertising, the internet to generate leads, and a funded proposal that would fund your advertising.

So what is Direct Response Advertising?   Basically it is using sales copy, powerfully written, that elicits an emotion in your prospects that compels them to take action.  Whatever action you want them to take.  More often than not, in our business of Network Marketing, the action we want is either to generate a lead, or make sale.

Second part of the method is using the internet.  In an industry that is built on finding people and building relationships, it is shocking to realize that so much of our industry does not fully understand or use the power of the internet.  Here we have a vehicle, the internet, that has millions of people on it, that is not being used to find prospects.  Used properly, and you will have an endless supply of highly targeted leads.

And finally the funded proposal.  If you have never heard the concept, it is the idea of using an inexpensive information product and selling that product to our prospects, our target market.  That product would be information that addresses and solves common problems facing our market. 

By approaching our prospect with a product that offers a solution to their problems we accomplish several things.

• First, we make money on the front end.  This money and sale is what is going to cover all of our advertising expenses.  And if done correctly could actually be a business in and of itself that makes a profit.
• Second, it is easier to sell an information product that solves a problem rather than selling our opportunity.
• Third, we now have a highly qualified prospect willing to spend money on their business.  No more deadbeat leads with no money.
• Finally, we position ourselves as the expert.   In this industry, people want to join experts.  They want to join leaders.  That is ultimately the determining factor when people join business opportunities.  By positioning yourself as the leader and expert, you now have a prospect willing to join your business.

That is the funded proposal in a nutshell and basically the 3 components of the New School MLM methods.

And once I discovered the secrets of this New School MLM, my business, my mind, and my organization have never been the same.

I don’t have to spend my money on prospecting overpriced, unqualified leads.  I could actually make money on my prospects whether they joined me in my business or not.

When I did talk to prospects, it was them who wanted to talk to me.

I now literally had prospects calling me wanting to know what I was doing.  How would you like to have that problem?

I was now the hunted vs. the hunter.

I attract like minded individuals vs. the old way of prospecting people who want nothing to do with network marketing.

Once you understand the power of using the internet and it’s millions of people online.  Using direct response marketing to help them solve their problems.   And positioning yourself as the expert.  You will see a massive spike in your downline.  Network Marketing will be the fun and profitable business it is meant to be.
