Web 2.0 what is it and how do we use it?

In our series teaching you how to generate targeted MLM traffic I have been teaching you my favorite methods for getting that traffic.  The methods I have introduced so far have been article marketing and eZine advertising.

But I also have been teaching you not only the how to use these methods, but also why these methods help us achieve our desired goal, which is to generate a lead for our mlm network marketing business that is targeted.

In other words, we have been trying to get traffic to our business, but not just any traffic, but traffic that is looking for what we have to offer, “targeted traffic”.

Anyone can offer to sell you millions of visitors to your site, but it doesn’t mean a thing if those visitors don’t care what you have to offer.

But turn that around and make it so the visitors that do see what you have to offer are the people that would like it, you will have a much higher conversion rate.

Article marketing and eZine advertising the methods I have shown in my earlier articles accomplishes that.  If you haven’t read it, go back to my previous articles and see what I am talking about.

Now onto Web 2.0 for your MLM Network Marketing business for generating leads.

Let me define what is Web 2.0 or what I mean when I use that term.  On the internet there is a growing trend of not just putting up websites that are static; what I mean by that, is the content on it stays the same or is just updated by the authors, but websites that the content is user generated.  In other words the contents is always being added by you, the
user.

Examples of this are Myspace, Facebook, YouTube, Squidoo and so many others. Those websites if you notice, all the content is being created by people who register.  And those people number in the millions.

So that is what I am referring to when I say Web 2.0.  Any site that the content can be added and interacted with by the user.

So how do we use it for our MLM Network Marketing business?

First let me make it clear, the information I am going to share on how to use it to generate MLM leads for your business will not be the end all, but just the tip of an enormous iceberg of information on the subject.

If I did attempt to write all there is to using Web 2.0, this would have to be a medium to large size book.

Now the 3 Web 2.0 properties I would suggest to start out with, and there are many more after you can take advantage of, are going to be Squidoo, Wordpress, and social bookmarking.

Now Squidoo.com and Wordpress.com are the sites you are going to be putting content on, similar to articles.  Why it benefits using it are because it is considered by Google as an authority site.  And in Google’s eyes authority sites get more weight and therefore get more listings in search engines.  And remember this will all be free.

Now Squidoo is a user generated content site, that is easy to use and easy to put content on with images and links to whatever you want to.  Basically allowing you to create a web page with whatever you are selling, instantly and for free.  But you have to provide good content.

Wordpress is a site that allows you to create your very own blog and they will host it for you.  That is a good thing because the things you will write on your blog get indexed by Google quickly and if you use the right keywords, will get searchers to your site quickly.

You will want to put good content on your blogs promoting your site, your business, and have a call to action that directs your reader to go to your main business or product you want to promote.

Blogging is a big thing nowadays and generates great free traffic if you know how to use it correctly.

So what you do is keyword research.  Search for some terms with a good amount of searches but with less competition so that you know it can get ranked on Google faster thereby getting you traffic.

You write some mini-articles on those keywords ending with a call to action.  When I say call to action, it should have a link to your main website that you use to promote your product or business, and the call to action tells them to click on that link or go to that website.

You would then place those articles on your Squidoo page and your Wordpress page.  You would then go to the social bookmarking sites and bookmark those Squidoo pages and Wordpress pages.  If you don’t know what bookmarking sites are, they are sites such as Digg, Delicious, Stumble Upon, etc.  And there are actually programs out there you can find to help you bookmark to all those sites quickly.

Those sites have authority in Google and so the links from those sites give your Squidoo pages and Wordpress pages more authority.

Remember the goal is to generate free traffic to these sites you have created on Squidoo and Wordpress and when the traffic gets to those pages, we want that traffic to click our links that takes them to our business.

By writing good content on these sites, with links, and then bookmarking them on all the social sites, we are going to be creating links that get indexed by Google.  And this indexing, if we did our keyword research right, will index the keywords we want that will have the right people find our sites.

All of this will be done for free and if done right, you can start seeing traffic within a few weeks if not days.

Like I said, there is much more to be said and learned in regards to using Web 2.0 to generate traffic.  But if you really want to explode your business, you want to learn it.

Well, that ends my training on using 3 profitable traffic methods to generate leads for your MLM business.  My final advice, use all 3 if not more.  In business in regards to advertising, you always want to diversify.  You never want to be dependant on one source of traffic.  Because if you build  your business on one traffic source and that one dries up, so will your
business.

So take what I have taught, learn more, and most of all apply what you learn.  Take Action!

Okay in our series I have been trying to teach you the 3 main ways I have used to generate what I call targeted traffic.

What targeted traffic is basically finding your market, knowing who they are and what they want, and putting your ad and your link in front of them, and those that click on that link is what is called targeted traffic.

Targeted traffic is what you get opposed to what you may have been purchasing in the past.  Such as buying leads from lead brokers.  Sure ask them if there leads are targeted and they will tell you yes.

But lets think about that.  The lead they sell you answered a generic home based business type of ad.  They sell that over and over again.  In other words, the lead you purchased many more people also purchased and will be calling that person.

Now let me ask you, if that lead is targeted, how can they sell it to so many different people in so many different industries?  Because they are not targeted.

What we want is someone who answered our specific type of ad, because that person is in our target market.

That brings us to Newsletter Marketing or some might call eZine Advertising.  If you don’t know what newsletters or ezines are, they are basically online publications or email lists that people sign up for to receive more information, tips, and product recommendations to help them in whatever industry they are in.

There are newsletters for every single type of industry out there.  But for our focus we want to focus on those that deal with MLM or Network Marketing, maybe home based business, making money online, etc.  The type of people who probably have done mlm network marketing.

By focusing our ads for those types of newsletters, we have narrowed it down so that only people who are in our target market will receive the ad.  Hence, those that read the ad and click on our link, is targeted traffic.

Now why this type of advertising is so powerful is because of the types of people who are on this newsletter list.  They are people who signed up to receive information because they want to improve their business, they want to learn how to do it better, they want to make more money.

And if you have been following what I have been teaching, your system and your ads should be focused on helping people get that.

So if that is what these people are signed up for, they are the perfect people to advertise to.  People looking to get better and more than likely are willing to take action to get better.

So how do we know which newsletter to advertise in?  Take notes because I am going to reveal an absolutely killer technique.

What you do is first find the newsletters that are in your industry.  You can do a Google search to find them.  You can type in “mlm newsletter”,  “network marketing newsletter”, “home based business newsletter”, etc. You get the point.

From the results you get back, make a list of about 40.  You are going to sign up for all 40 of them.  But, make sure you open a free email account with Yahoo or Google to sign up with.  You don’t want to use your main email and have it flooded with these offers.

Now that you are signed up with them, just watch and wait to see the types of newsletters or emails you receive from them.  And read to see if these emails connect with you.  Do they build a nice relationship with you?  Or are they just blatant ads that turn you off?

The ones you see value in are the ones you are going to target.  Obviously the ones that turn you off because they are just blatant ads you don’t want to advertise in.

So the ones you target, you want to personally send an email to the owner of the newsletter and tell him you want to advertise in their newsletter.  Include a copy of the ad you want to run and ask them what they think.  Ask them if similar ads have run recently and what kind of response they received.

You will get good responses back and you advertise in those.  That is a secret to saving a lot of money in newsletter advertising.

Of course there is much more to newsletter advertising beyond what I have covered.  You can go into what type of ad to run.  How to write the ad.  Etc.  But my main focus was to get you to understand why newsletter advertising is so powerful in generating targeted traffic and hopefully you see that.

In our final topic in my next article, I will cover the final way I want to share with you on how to generate targeted traffic and that is Web 2.0

Generating Targeted MLM Traffic Series Part 4

And for each method, I not only hope to show you how to do it, but hopefully explain to you why, when done, produces a laser targeted lead chasing you.

So the first method is Article Marketing.  Although it is a free method to generate leads, the leads you produce will be laser targeted.

What is article marketing?

Article marketing is basically writing 400-500 word articles that deal with a specific topic.  And believe me, 400-500 words is not long.  It can be done in 15 minutes, if it is a topic you know about and are passionate about.  And if you are reading this article, you should qualify for those 2 points.

For our industry, we want to write on MLM Network marketing, maybe on the struggles in it, or how to overcome those struggles, how to recruit more, how to make more money, etc.

And you don’t have to worry about being a great writer, all you have to do is write in a conversational manner.  Not using great big words, but writing as if you are writing to a friend telling them about something great.  If you can write a letter to a friend, you can write an article.

Now it is called article marketing because not only are you going to be giving great information, but you are also marketing.  At the end of your article, you are going to have what is called a resource box.  In the body of the article, you do not want to have any blatant ads.  You want to focus on giving great content to your readers.

But in the resource box, all the gloves are off.  You write in the 3rd person and tell them how great you are and how they can do the same.  Obviously you want to learn how to word it better than that, but that is basically what you are trying to do in the resource box.

You will include a link to maybe your website or maybe your marketing system website which sells your opportunity.

Now article marketing for MLM when done correctly is going to produce a laser targeted lead.  Isn’t that the purpose of this series.

Why and how does it produce this targeted lead?

First, you are writing to a specific industry and topics related to that industry.  So the only people who are going to be reading it are going to be people in our target market.

Second, you will be giving value.  In network marketing, if you want people to chase you, seek you out with credit card in hand, you are going to need to become valuable.  People only join people who they feel can give them value.

Remember, our prospect wants success and if they feel you are valuable in that area and can help them get success, they will join you.

And finally, sort of expanding on the second point on becoming valuable, you are branding you.  By writing your article you are positioning yourself as the expert.  People who click on your link in the resource box want to know more about you.  Can it get any more targeted than that?

This is why article marketing is so powerful.  They are your calling cards with your advertisement promoting you and nothing else that are going to be all over the internet.

How you get them all over the internet is you submit them to what are called article directories.  If you don’t know what they are, you can check out ezinearticles.com for an example.

You can find more by just doing a Google search for article directories.

You submit them to these sites, as many as you can and people will find them.  And when they find your ad, they will find their way to your site that you advertise on and you will have yourself a highly qualified targeted lead.

Generating Targeted MLM Traffic Part 3

I have done that by contrasting the way Network Marketing organizations have been built in the past (friends and family, meetings, buying leads and cold calling), and the way it should be built now (using the internet, direct response advertising, and a duplicatable marketing system).

Now that I have laid the groundwork, the foundation if you will, now it is time to get into another important aspect of building your MLM the new way.  And that is generating targeted MLM leads.

I specify targeted because, one of the reasons I have advocated the new way vs. the old way, is because the old way wasted a lot of time on non-targeted leads.

We have been taught in MLM Network Marketing that everybody is a prospect.  But I am sure from your experience, most of the people you talked to weren’t interested.  You wasted time showing the plan, driving to a meeting, or sitting on the phone calling leads.  I am not for wasting time.

Sure everybody wants more money, more time, or more freedom, but most don’t want to do it via MLM.

Well the new way focuses on knowing who our target market is and delivering a well written sales ad that speaks to that market’s desires and problems and offers a solution.

If we do that, we end up with a targeted lead.  And dealing with a targeted lead, as you will soon discover, is much more efficient and definitely much more effective.

There are millions of people who are our target market.  People who are interested in MLM maybe because they have been involved in it in the past and are looking for a way to make it work now, or people who know of the industry, but may not want to build it the old style ways.

So the focus of this series of articles will be to show you how I generate an endless supply of targeted leads for my MLM and how you can too.

It is not that hard, you just have to put into action what I show you.

Now I am going to focus on the 3 main ways I have used to generate targeted traffic.  Nice part about it, 2 are free, and the 3rd is relatively inexpensive compared to the types of returns you can get.

The 3 are Article Marketing, Ezine Advertising, and finally Web 2.0.

I am sure you see a glaring ommission and that is Google PPC.  If you don’t know what PPC or pay per click is, it is when you pay a search engine, such as Google an “x” amount for every click they get for you.

They are the ads that appear on the right hand side of Google whenever you do a search on their search engine.  Everytime you click on one of those ads, Google charges whoever paid for that ad a certain price for that click.

Depending on how much you are willing to pay, will determine how high Google will place you on their search results pages.  And obviously the higher you are willing to pay and the higher you appear on their page, will get you more clicks and more exposure to whatever it is you are advertising.

Well, I have left it out mainly because unless you are already a very good marketer, know how to write good ads, etc. it is a very expensive way to test whatever it is you are selling.

You can spend a lot of money fast and not get anything in return if you don’t know what you are doing.

And since you may be new to marketing or new to building your Network Marketing company in this new way, I am assuming you may not be an experienced marketer.

Once you do start making money and are more experienced as a marketer, using PPC/pay per click, is definitely a tool you want to use in your arsenal, because if done right, you can definitely produce a very highly targeted and qualified lead.

So ready to begin?  The first part will be one of my favorites because it is easy, it is free, and produces laser targeted leads looking to join you.  It is article marketing.
